FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Will I be in control during hypnosis?
Yes. Hypnosis cannot cause anyone to do anything contrary to their code of ethics, their morals, or their will. If
a suggestion were to be made during hypnosis that was unacceptable or in violation of one’s value system it
would be rejected outright by the subconscious mind. The client remains in control and could emerge himself
or herself at any point, though to do so would prevent the attainment of their specific goals.
- Will I know that I’ve been hypnotized?
It is possible to emerge from hypnosis with no clear sense that one has been hypnotized. The realization
sometimes comes a little later when the desired, positive changes are seen.
- Is Hypnosis the same as being asleep?
Though the hypnoherapist will often use the word “sleep” this is not sleep in the conventional sense of the word.
It is possible to hear everything that is going on in the immediate environment while in a state of hypnosis
though such things will be of no interest and may even be used to deepen the relaxation.
